Plan for Job Shadow 2008!
Friday, February 1, 2008 marks the kick-off of Job Shadow 2008. Starting on that day, countless working professionals will see their “student shadows” as part of Job Shadow 2008. Now in its 11th year, this year-round effort will engage thousands of employers in an initiative, which will introduce an estimated one million students to the world of work over the next 12 months.

More About Job Shadow 2008
Job Shadow is a yearlong national effort to enrich the lives of students by acquainting them with the world of work through on-the-job experiences and a carefully crafted school curriculum that ties academics to the workplace. The effort helps young people understand how what they learn in the classroom leads to success in the workplace. National Job Shadow is a coordinated effort of Junior Achievement, America’s Promise—The Alliance for Youth, the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Labor. The national title sponsor is the Best Buy Children’s Foundation. Other sponsors include Cisco, the Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
