Job Shadow Day is this Friday!!

This Friday, February 2nd, is the 10th Annual Job Shadow Day! Countless events are taking place across the country and around the world! Here are some of the highlights!

New York, NY

Students from Junior Achievement of New York and representatives from ING will ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on February 2nd as part of Job Shadow Day 2007. Some of the students will have the opportunity to Job Shadow Donny Deutsch, host of CNBC’s The Big Idea, as he spends the day working at his advertising firm.

Washington, DC

More than 500 area Junior Achievement students will be participating in a variety of Job Shadow experiences, including shadowing Chief Information Officers (CIOs) at dozens of Federal Agencies and high tech careers at Northern Virginia employers such as AOL, Boeing and Northrop Grumman. In addition, 600 students will Job Shadow at the Federal Aviation Administration where they will get a look at the FAA Operations Center, see a K-9 Demonstration and learn about the principles of flight.

Boston, MA

Best Western The Inn at Longwood Medical will be hosting six students from Madison High on Friday Feb 2, 2007. Six departments will each host a student for the day with lunch in the hotel’s Restaurant, followed up by a full evaluation of the experience.

Montgomery, AL

For the seventh consecutive year, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce will be partnering with Montgomery Public Schools, Partners in Education and businesses across the community to provide Job Shadow opportunities for 75 high school students. Two students will even have the opportunity to Job Shadow Alabama Governor Bob Riley.
